We feel that pastoral care should be part of the whole church life and responsibility rather than solely the responsibility of a group of named specialists so we concentrate on developing a community where friendships and supportive relationships can develop. The small groups provide a setting and environment where much of the support for each other can be given and received and we encourage everyone who can to link up with one of the small groups in the church.
There may well be times of difficulties when more support may be needed or someone may prefer to talk in more depth to someone outside of their group and there is the opportunity to do this within the church. Also if there is a time when a person feels it appropriate we can advise on counselling services or other specialist advice services outside of the church.
